How i became a marine woman: Marine Corps Ball

Tomorrow the ball commemorating the “birth” of the Marine Corps (Nov. 11, 1775) will take place in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. I wish I could be there, I just think, next year I will be, with my uniform at the Marine Corps ball! They always have a cake with the Eagle Globe and Anchor and a band that plays all sorts of music, guys go with their uniforms, female Marines sometimes change into dresses, I think, I’ll be that girl that will wear her uniform to the ball the first year, since I’ve been working so hard for it and I will work even harder when I get to boot camp, I wouldn’t want to take the darn uniform off.

I’m just looking forward to next year, when I can say “my birthday is coming up” when Nov. 11 is coming around. I’ll be so proud and happy to say that.
